Welcome to the 2009-10 school year! We offer our kids many exciting activities and programs. For them to be successful and fun we need your help. Listed below are some of the opportunities for you to get involved. Our volunteers are an essential part of the success of Lewis Elementary, so thank you in advance for all you do!

| FAMILY EVENING EVENTS | Help organize, set up, serve food & drinks, and clean up events such as the Fall Dinner, General Assembly, and the Spring Carnival. |
| WRITER’S WORKSHOP | assist the teachers during the workshop & help create books from the stories the students contributed. This includes typing, copying, and binding. |
| CELEBRATION EVENTS | Help with event set-up, serving, and cleaning up events such as Grandparents Breakfast, Donuts for Dads, and Veteran’s Day. |
| PRIDE WALK | Help this annual school fundraiser by providing snacks, water, encouragement, and counting laps walked by the students. |
| FIELD DAY | Coaches plan a day of outdoor fun & games. Help set up event and serve water and treats. |
| YEARBOOK | Help with imaging, making copies and taking yearbook orders. Photographers needed! |
| 5th GRADE EVENTS | Parents & teachers plan the end-of-year celebrations. |
| LITERACY MENTOR | Work one-on-one to help students improve their reading skills. |
| HOSPITALITY | Help plan and run special events for teachers such as teacher appreciation lunches and other extras designed to pamper our faculty during various times of the year. |
| MEDIA CENTER | Help check materials in and out, shelve books, assist students, and make copies. The Media Specialist provides training. |
| PANTHER ASSISTANTS | Provide assistance by helping during picture days, health screening days, lunchroom assistance, etc. |
| REFLECTIONS | Help set up/put away art supplies before school (7:30-8:am) on select mornings in the early fall.

| GO GREEN! | This is a new program designed to promote environmental impact awareness. There will be several initiatives throughout the year, including a pilot program, ‘Safe Routes To School’. |
All volunteers are required to sign in at the computer in the office when you volunteer - please note that you will need your driver’s license! Also, each volunteer must have a completed SERVE form on file before doing any volunteer work at our school - no exceptions.
